The National Indian Telecommunications Institute is a non-profit organization that uses electronic tools to preserve the past and teach the children. Among other projects, NITI has created a Comanche audio CD. See details here and look under the Initiatives tab. This project could be adapted for use in Montana.

Fonts and keyboards for native languages are available. The Languagegeek site is dedicated to the purpose of providing font tools for preserving native languages.

Open source software that costs nothing is also available. One such application is Audacity audio recording software. This is just one of many, but it is one that I have personally used and can "talk" people through downloading, installing, and using to record speech and stories.

A comprehensive assortment of links to digital aids for language preservation can be found at The Hans Rausing Endangered Languages Project.
